About The Position
The Nurse Tech acts as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Provider. The role performs basic skills according to department guidelines, communicates observations to the health care team, and collects and reports patients’ and families’ physiological, psychological, sociocultural, and spiritual needs in coordination with and as delineated by the RN or Provider. Required documentation must be accurate and timely. The position is on the Medical Surgical Care Unit at Big Rapids Hospital, which has a 22-bed medical-surgical unit and a 4-bed critical care unit. The patient population includes hospitalist medicine patients with a range of diagnoses. The team works collaboratively with an interdisciplinary group and provides onboarding support. Scheduling follows a six-week rotating core. The posted position is part-time, night shift, with hours of work from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS), required within 90 days.
- Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program.
