About The Position
The Nurse Tech works as a member of the care team to deliver quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Provider. The role performs basic skills according to department guidelines, communicates observations to the health care team, and collects and reports patients’ and families’ physiological, psychological, sociocultural, and spiritual needs in coordination with and as directed by the RN or Provider. The Nurse Tech also ensures required documentation is completed accurately and promptly. The position is based in the Med Surg Care Unit 3E at Big Rapids Hospital, which includes a 22-bed medical-surgical unit and a 4-bed critical care unit. The unit cares for a diverse patient population and works collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team. Scheduling follows a six-week rotating core. This is a part-time, night-shift position with hours of 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. and 0.1 weekly scheduled hours.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days.
- Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program.
Responsibilities
