About The Position
The Nurse Tech functions as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider. This role involves performing basic skills according to department guidelines, communicating observations to the healthcare team, and collecting/reporting patient and family needs. The Nurse Tech will assist with tasks such as taking vital signs, checking blood sugars, providing bed baths, ambulating patients, wound care, catheterization, and acting as a safety attendant. Accurate and timely documentation is also a key responsibility.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Work Equivalent
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days
Responsibilities
- Acts as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider.
- Performs basic skills per department guidelines and communicates observations to members of the health care team.
- Collects and reports physiological, psychological, sociocultural and spiritual needs of patients and families in coordination with and as delineated by the RN or Provider.
- Responsibilities include taking vitals, checking blood sugars, bed bathing, ambulating, wound care, catheterization and acting as a safety attendant for patients.
- Ensures that the required documentation is performed in an accurate and timely manner.
