About The Position

Provides direct and indirect patient care in the hospital setting under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The nurse tech may perform procedures and tasks for which they have been educated and deemed competent by an accredited, state board-approved pre-licensure nursing program. The position is per diem in the Adult ICU. Scheduled weekly hours are listed as TBD.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited, state board-approved pre-licensure RN program.
• Successfully completed at least one hospital-based clinical rotation.
• Deemed competent by the nursing program in core nursing skills, as evidenced by a completed and signed competency form.
• Current BLS certification through an ILCOR-provided course, such as Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, or American Red Cross, required upon hire; the course must include a manikin check off.
• Proficient in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Must possess good physical health, including the ability to stand, sit, or walk for long periods and lift at least 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
