About The Position

The Butterworth Emergency Department is a fast-paced environment within a Level 1 Trauma Center, focused on a strong team-based approach to providing excellent patient care. It is one of the busiest ERs in the nation, treating a wide range of conditions from minor illnesses to serious chronic and acute health concerns. The department consistently outperforms state and national metrics for patient throughput. Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 90 Days of Hire

Nice To Haves

• >1 Year of Emergency, EMT, or Patient Care experience

Responsibilities

• Acts as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider.
• Performs basic skills per department guidelines and communicates observations to members of the health care team.
• Collects and reports physiological, psychological, sociocultural and spiritual needs of patients and families in coordination with and as delineated by the RN or Provider.
• Takes vitals, checks blood sugars, performs bed bathing, ambulates patients, provides wound care, performs catheterization, and acts as a safety attendant for patients.
• Ensures that required documentation is performed in an accurate and timely manner.
