About The Position

About the unit 4 Center is one of the units within the Women's Health Service Line at Butterworth Hospital. We provide Antepartum care for women during high risk pregnancies, experiencing a variety of complications. It is the flagship hospital for Corewell Health Grand Rapids Hospitals. Scope of work We provide care to women experiencing pregnancy complications, as well as other Women's Health and GYN patients. As a Nursing Technician with Corewell Health, providing top-notch patient care is paramount. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Provider, you'll be performing basic nursing skills, observing patients, and communicating those observations to the other members of the team. You'll be a vital part of our team, making a real difference in the lives of our patients and their families.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days

Nice To Haves

• 1- 2 years of direct patient care experience is strongly preferred
• Flexibility to work 3 variable weekdays and rotational weekends

Responsibilities

• Collects and reports physiological, psychological, sociocultural and spiritual needs of patients and families in coordination with and as delineated by the RN or Provider.
• Ensures that required documentation is performed in an accurate and timely manner.
• Provides direct patient care under the direction of the RN or Provider, consistent with clinical policies and procedures, and department standard work.
• Provides input in the development of an individualized plan of care.
• Ensures that required documentation is performed in an accurate and timely manner.
• Articulates the nursing technician role to the patient, family and health team members.
• Provides support to facilitate safe, quality patient care in a cost-effective manner.
• Cleans patient’s environment / work area / equipment and communicates any equipment malfunctions to appropriate department / unit personnel.
• Demonstrates a high standard of moral and ethical behavior.
• Advocates for privacy, confidentiality and security of patient, staff and organization data.
