This position supports the Department of Health and Human Service’s mission to promote health and safety for all Maine people. The role involves leading a team of surveyors to conduct inspections and investigate complaint allegations in acute-level providers such as hospitals, hospices, and ambulatory surgical centers. Responsibilities include interviewing complainants, performing record reviews and observations, writing "Statements of Deficiencies" that outline regulatory violations, assisting team members to ensure compliance with CMS requirements, participating in mandatory training, and ensuring facilities comply with federal and State licensing requirements. Although the role is titled "Team Coordinator," it does not involve annual performance reviews or other supervisory duties. The position requires statewide travel and occasional overnight stays, as well as potential early morning, night, or weekend survey work.
