Nurse Supervisor (RN), Pain Management Clinic
About The Position
Sentara Pain Management Clinic in Fort Norfolk is hiring an RN Supervisor! This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday through Thursday from 7 AM to 4 PM. The role involves sharing 24/7 responsibility to assist the manager with daily operations of clinical areas. The supervisor will oversee patient care services staff to ensure patient safety, high-quality outcomes, and an exceptional patient/family experience. Responsibilities include assisting the manager in budget development and monitoring, coordinating purchasing and payroll, serving as a technical/clinical resource, and performing work assignments as needed for coverage and staff mentoring. The supervisor will also assist the manager with interviewing, hiring, developing, and retaining staff to build a reliable work team. Coordination and assistance with staff education, orientation, and precepting may also be involved. The role requires effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt leadership style to achieve department goals.
Requirements
- BSN (Required)
- RN License (Required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire
- 2 years nursing experience required
- Highly prefer operating room or procedural nursing experience
Responsibilities
- Assist the manager for the daily operations of one or more clinical areas.
- Supervise patient care services staff to ensure patient safety, high quality outcomes and an exceptional patient/family experience.
- Assist manager in the development and monitoring of the departmental budget.
- Coordinate the purchasing and payroll processes.
- Serve as a technical/clinical resource to team members.
- Perform work assignments as needed to provide appropriate coverage and to mentor/assist staff.
- Assist manager with interviewing, hiring, developing, and retaining staff members.
- Coordinate and/or assist with staff education, orientation and precepting of members of the team.
- Utilize effective communication/interpersonal skills and adapt leadership style to support achieving department goals and objectives.
