WE CELEBRATE YOU! We are actively hiring a Nurse Supervisor, Oncology to support our Valkyrie Clinical Trials Century City, Los Angeles site.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 1+ years of supervisory or charge nurse experience.
  • Oncology clinical research experience required.
  • Strong working knowledge of clinical research methods and operations.
  • Familiarity with chemotherapy/biotherapy administration standards and oncology regulatory requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and accreditation standards.
  • Excellent clinical nursing skills, including proficiency in IV infusion, vascular access, port care, injections, and phlebotomy required.
  • Strong leadership and process improvement skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent computer skills to include EMR/HER platforms, Office365 and other products.
  • Experience in writing and reviewing Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Strong problem solving, judgment, critical thinking, risk assessment and impact analysis abilities.
  • Flexible, able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and prioritize competing demands.
  • Ability to think independently and influence when appropriate.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Daily computer use.
  • Exposure to human bodily fluids.
  • Participant/Patient care.
  • Ability to properly lift thirty-five pounds and occasionally more than thirty-five pounds.

  • Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or Healthcare Administration preferred.
  • ONS/ONCC certification strongly preferred.

  • ACLS preferred.
  • Local travel may be required to other sites as applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and oversees daily nursing operations in an oncology clinical research environment, ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and effective coordination of nursing staff.
  • Combines clinical nursing oversight with leadership responsibilities, coordinating clinic and infusion workflows, acting as a liaison between nursing staff, providers, clinical research staff, and administration.
  • Serves as a lead infusion nurse, including performing IV infusions, and/or injections of blinded and unblinded study drugs, obtaining blood specimens, and maintaining accurate source documentation.
  • Monitor patient care delivery to ensure adherence to clinical standards, protocols, and best practices.
  • Assesses patient conditions and ensures quality of care.
  • Respond to and manage clinical emergencies, escalations, and complex patient situations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation in patient records.
  • Supervise, schedule, and coordinate assigned nursing staff.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Facilitate onboarding, orientation, and ongoing training for nursing staff.
  • Address staffing shortages and coordinate coverage.
  • Ensure compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and all applicable regulatory requirements and clinic standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and track relevant patient care metrics.
  • Investigate and respond to incident reports, patient complaints, and safety events.
  • Maintain infection control and patient safety protocols.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of study data and all participant/patient information.
  • Collaborate with investigators, study coordinators, pharmacy, and other clinical staff to ensure protocol compliance.
  • Participate in training sessions and maintain current knowledge of clinical trial procedures and safety standards; may develop and lead training initiatives for nursing staff.
  • Address team resourcing and supply needs.
  • Prepare and present reports on team performance, staffing, and incidents to senior leadership.
  • Participate in cross functional meetings and represent nursing staff interests.
  • Support policy development and implementation.
  • Perform IV infusion and IM/SQ injections of blinded and unblinded investigational products according to study protocols.
  • Obtain blood specimens and other biological samples from study participants/patients following proper clinical procedures.
  • Ensure accurate and timely source documentation in compliance with GCP and sponsor guidelines.
  • Monitor participants/patients for infusion reactions and adverse events and report and document findings per protocol, regulatory requirements, and site SOPs.
  • Represent Flourish Research in a professional and courteous manner (verbal, written and in appearance) when interacting with all staff, clients, and vendors.
  • Communicate effectively, compassionately, and professionally with patients and guests, physicians, employees, and all others.
  • Additional duties as assigned by management.
