About The Position

In this role, the Nurse Supervisor serves as a vital lifeline for team members as they assist patients in navigating their most difficult journeys. Unlike standard clinical roles, this position offers the deep satisfaction of leading a team that receives profound appreciation from the community they serve. The Nurse Supervisor’s day begins by touching base with the team before diving into the dynamic world of: •Real-Time Navigation: Managing employee and patient scheduling while pivoting instantly to solve emerging obstacles. •Balanced Leadership: Effortlessly shifting between logistical problem-solving and celebrating the milestones and accomplishments of both staff and patients. Located in North County right off 270 and Hanley with a premier Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM work week with no weekends, no holidays, and no on-call requirements.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program, plus a minimum of 2 years of related nursing experience.
  • Current LPN or RN licensure in the state of Missouri and/or Illinois, depending on location, in accordance with the Compact Act.
  • Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).

Nice To Haves

  • OCN certification or 6 oncology related continuing education hours per year, or 18 in a 3 year cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises nursing staff, including hiring/firing responsibilities, performance appraisals for subordinates, initiating disciplinary action.
  • Coordinates patient services with physicians and staff to provide quality care in effective manner, conducting rounds to ensure quality of patient care delivery.
  • Facilitates educational opportunities and quality improvement activities for staff to ensure compliance with medical school and regulatory guidelines.
  • Assigns/coordinates activities and duties of staff orienting new staff and advising administration of conditions and performance issues.
  • Provides direct patient care as needed, including development of patient care plans, administering medication, vitals, phlebotomy, monitoring IV therapies and maintaining records in accordance with approved nursing techniques.
  • Promotes/maintains good public relations with patients and families, acting as liaison between other departments.
  • Provides appropriate counsel to patients/families explaining medications, procedures and teaches care to ensure continuity of care and promote health care maintenance.
  • Monitors supplies/equipment ordering/repairing as required.
