The IU Health Nurse Scholar Program is designed to support future nurses during the final semesters of their nursing education by providing financial assistance and career development opportunities. Selected students receive funding in exchange for a commitment to begin their professional nursing careers with IU Health after graduation. This program strengthens the nursing workforce pipeline while helping students transition successfully into practice. Applications are now being accepted for the Fall 2026 semester. It is open to students enrolled in a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program at an Indiana University campus or an Associate of Science in Nursing Program at an Ivy Tech Community College campus. Participants will receive financial support for semesters left in school in exchange for an RN work commitment upon graduation and licensure. The work commitment begins after graduation and successful completion of the NCLEX. The length of the commitment is based on the amount of funding received while in the Nurse Scholar Program. Participants must maintain academic progress and program eligibility throughout their time in the program. Failure to do so will result in removal from the program and may require repayment of scholarship funds received. As an IU Health Nurse Scholar, you are guaranteed an RN role upon graduation.
