About The Position

Pacific Coast Post Acute is seeking an organized and dependable Nurse Scheduler/Staffing Coordinator to join our team. The primary purpose of this position is to ensure adequate and appropriate staffing within the nursing department to meet resident care needs while maintaining compliance with budgetary guidelines, census requirements, and facility policies. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage staffing needs in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Requirements

  • Previous scheduling, staffing, or healthcare administrative experience preferred.
  • Experience in a skilled nursing facility, post-acute care, or healthcare setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and scheduling software systems.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professionalism in all interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and coordinate nursing staff schedules to ensure appropriate coverage for all shifts.
  • Monitor staffing levels based on resident census, acuity, budget requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate replacement staffing for call-offs, vacations, leaves of absence, and open shifts.
  • Maintain accurate staffing records, schedules, and attendance documentation.
  • Communicate schedule changes and staffing updates promptly to nursing staff and department leadership.
  • Work closely with the Director of Nursing and facility administration to address staffing needs and concerns.
  • Track employee attendance, tardiness, and absenteeism as directed.
  • Assist with onboarding schedules and staffing coordination for new hires.
  • Ensure compliance with labor regulations, facility policies, and staffing requirements.
  • Respond to staffing emergencies and assist in finding appropriate coverage when needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee and resident information.
  • Foster positive working relationships with nursing staff, department managers, and administration.
  • Perform clerical and administrative duties related to staffing and scheduling.
  • Assist with special projects and perform other related duties as assigned.
