About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in Pre-op and PACU provides nursing care to surgical patients utilizing the nursing process and the standards of care of a professional nurse. The RN is expected to perform all staff nurse activities and functions as charge nurse when assigned. The RN maintains overall accountability/responsibility for assigned patients, even though some activities /tasks may be delegated to the Patient Care Associated and Guest Associates.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Demonstrates teamwork and communicates in a professional manner with all members of the healthcare team.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to learn new methods, procedures and techniques resulting from departmental or organization change.
  • Adapts quickly and easily to change and adjusted behavior and approach to work when necessary to achieve goals.
  • Licensed to practice nursing in the state of Florida
  • BLS from the American Heart Association
  • ACLS from the American Heart Association
  • Less than one year related experience

Nice To Haves

  • BSN degree from an accredited school of nursing within three (3) years of hire or transfer into the position (for new hires effective June 14, 2017).
  • Conditions in offer letter and job description signed upon hire or transfer into the position (for new hires or transfers into the position between August 1, 2013 and June 13, 2017).
  • Grandfathered status (for current employees hired or transferred into the position prior to August 1, 2013).
  • BSN
  • PALS from the American Heart Association is required within six (6) months of hire or transfer.
  • Fellowship RN's must obtain their ACLS and PALS within six (6) months of hire or transfer.
  • Professional Certification
  • 1 year of clinical experience
