Nurse Resident, Medical Telemetry FT Days
About The Position
Baystate Health is hiring a Nurse Resident for its Medical Telemetry service at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. The role provides nursing care to medical patients, some of whom require telemetry monitoring, on S1400, a 24-bed acute care unit. The patient population ranges from age 20 through geriatrics and includes inpatient, observation, and outpatient extended-stay patients. Conditions cared for include Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, psychiatric concerns, sepsis and other advanced infections, falls and syncope, palliative and hospice needs, stroke, COVID-19, atrial fibrillation, congestive heart failure, and acute coronary syndrome. The role is part of Baystate Health’s nursing practice in medical-surgical and medicine specialties, which provide broad clinical experience and opportunities to develop organizational, prioritization, assessment, and communication skills. The position is full-time on days, from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with every other weekend and every other holiday scheduled.
Requirements
- Successfully pass the Board of Registration in Nursing Examination.
- Hold a Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Hold current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification (Basic Life Support).
- Diploma in Nursing.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to medical patients with a variety of conditions, with or without telemetry monitoring.
- Monitor and care for patients admitted as inpatients or placed in observation or outpatient extended-stay status.
