About The Position

Stoneman 5 is a 24-bed inpatient surgical unit specializing in orthopedic and gynecologic surgery, gynecologic oncology, and genitourinary surgery. The unit provides post-operative care to a diverse surgical population and is preparing to transition toward an oncology-focused model through a collaboration with Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The Clinical Nurse I is an entry-level registered nurse position for new graduates. The nurse uses the nursing process to provide direct patient care to patients and families. Training, evaluation, and competencies are overseen by a department Nurse Leader. Clinical Nurse I employees are automatically enrolled in the 12-month Transition to Practice: Nurse Residency Program. The program complements unit-based, precepted clinical orientation with monthly classroom seminars and hands-on precepted work experiences. Expert facilitators support the development of critical thinking and clinical competence, while presentations, reflection, feedback, and guidance help nurses chart their professional growth.
