Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required
  • Five years in acute care nursing

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Nursing preferred
  • One year in supervisory experience preferred
  • Certification in Nursing area of specialty, nursing leadership or professional development once eligible
  • Experience in education preferred

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate scheduled experiences and learning opportunities for nurse residents
  • Collaborate with managers, preceptors and educators in the orientation process for the new resident
  • Coach and follows development of new residents as they progress through the residency program
  • Meet with residents, managers and preceptors on a regular, scheduled basis to assess professional development and progression in RN role
  • Administer the national Vizient Nurse Residency survey at prescribed intervals
  • Develop and implement monthly classroom learning
  • Plan and coordinate events such as resident pinning and graduation
  • Oversee resident DMAIC project completion
