Nurse Practitioner Moonlighting Psychiatric Adult Inpatient - St. Paul, MN
About The Position
Fairview is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner specializing in adult inpatient psychiatry for a moonlighting role supporting acute inpatient psychiatric services for adults at Capitol Park Mental Health Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota. This onsite role is at a 144-bed behavioral health hospital that opened in 2025. The position offers flexible weekday-only coverage, with a minimum commitment of 2–3 shifts per month, at $85 per hour. The nurse practitioner will provide admission support and crisis intervention, initiate and adjust psychotropic medications, cross-cover existing inpatients, collaborate with onsite nursing leadership, and provide structured handoffs to attending providers. Onboarding includes WellSky EHR training, behavioral health team orientation, credentialing and reporting support, and ongoing collaboration with multidisciplinary care teams. Capitol Park Hospital is purpose-built for patients with acute mental health needs, with modern units, ample natural light, and a care model intended to support stabilization and recovery. Requirements
- Graduate of a school of nursing and an accredited Nurse Practitioner training program.
- Board certified or board eligible through the AANP or ANCC.
- Licensed or able to obtain an APRN license with the Minnesota Board of Nursing.
- Able to obtain and/or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota.
- Meet threshold criteria and qualifications for credentialing and privileges.
- BLS certified.
- PMHNP certification required.
- Prior experience as an advanced practice provider (APP) in an inpatient psychiatric setting required.
