About The Position

Mercy Medical Center is hiring a Nurse Practitioner for its Center for Endocrinology. The Nurse Practitioner will provide care as one of the providers in a busy endocrinology practice, serving a diverse patient population across communities in the Baltimore Metro area. The role involves learning about patients, educating them about their conditions, and supporting their overall health goals. The position travels among Mercy locations in downtown Baltimore, Glen Burnie, Lutherville, and Columbia. Previous endocrinology experience is preferred, with at least a few years in the specialty preferred.

Requirements

Master's degree in Nursing and certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
Qualified and duly licensed and registered to practice medicine in Maryland.
Current federal and Maryland narcotics numbers.
Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP).
Current Healthcare Provider Level CPR certification.
Ability to work independently and make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
Ability to communicate effectively and deal tactfully with personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public.
Flexibility, personal integrity, and ability to function effectively as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience working specifically in endocrinology; at least a few years in the specialty is preferred.
Nurse Practitioner experience.

Responsibilities

Prescribe necessary medications and tests.
Educate diabetic patients on the use of continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) systems.
Be available to patients, providers, and staff via Epic messaging for consultations.
Learn about patients and educate them about their conditions to support their health goals.
Travel to Mercy locations in downtown Baltimore, Glen Burnie, Lutherville, and Columbia.
