Nurse Practitioner - FNP/PMHNP
About The Position
Avenues Recovery Center is hiring a full-time Nurse Practitioner for its detox and residential treatment facility in Indianapolis, Indiana. The role is scheduled for a 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. shift and provides medical care to clients receiving addiction treatment. The practitioner creates individualized treatment plans, monitors clients’ medical needs, manages medications, and works with medical, clinical, and utilization review teams to coordinate care. The position requires Indiana licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, federal DEA certification, and experience in addiction medicine or a related field. Avenues Recovery Center at Indianapolis is a 144-bed detox and residential rehabilitation facility offering evidence-based clinical programming, comprehensive medical care, and customized medication-assisted treatment. The multidisciplinary team includes doctors, nurses, addiction specialists, counselors, and support staff. The facility is described as freshly remodeled, with a clean, bright, modern design, airy bedrooms, open lounges, and recreational areas.
Requirements
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or MPAS.
- State licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Indiana.
- Federal DEA certification.
- Advanced practice nursing skills, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in addiction medicine or a related field.
Responsibilities
- Create individual medical care treatment plans and provide medical monitoring and medication management for clients throughout treatment.
- Provide medical care to stabilize patients and help them engage fully in treatment.
- Update pharmacy orders; create UDS, medication, and laboratory orders; and review and address UDS and laboratory results.
- Collaborate with medical, clinical, and utilization review teams to coordinate care.
- Maintain thorough documentation of medical interventions, consultations, and directives.
- Complete daily and weekly client appointment schedules in a timely and efficient manner.
