About The Position

As a Nurse Practitioner, your superior interpersonal and empathetic skills, as well as your comprehension of diagnostic procedures greatly assist you in providing medical services to patients. This is a full-time position in the Sleep Disorders Department, with a schedule of days, Monday-Friday. Excellent customer service and communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a compassionate, kind, and patient-focused approach are key attributes for this role.

Requirements

• MS: Nursing (Required)
• NP - Nurse Practitioner Certification - New York State Education Department (NYSED)
• RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)

Responsibilities

• Patient Satisfaction: Interacts on a frequent, regular and daily basis with patients, family members, medical/social/public services support, regulatory agencies and/or payor agencies. Interaction and communication requires expressed empathy, understanding, problem-solving, education, information gathering, process influencing and counseling.
• Treatment: Prescribe medication, perform minor procedures and coordinate treatment; provide health education and guidance regarding treatment; communicate with, and counsel family members; recommend community resources and refer patients to collaborating physician or specialist.
• Administrative Assistance: Perform administrative responsibilities such as updating patient charts, billing codes and completing required documents from outside agencies.
