About The Position

Munson Healthcare is northern Michigan’s largest healthcare system, with eight award-winning community hospitals serving over half a million residents across 29 counties. This role involves being proficient in all areas of sleep study, including calibration, monitoring, measurement, documentation, and treatment (PSG, PAP Titration, CO2 Monitoring, Oxygen Administration, etc.). The technician will score polysomnograms and generate reports summarizing various physiological events according to current AASM guidelines for adults, children, and infants. Responsibilities also include troubleshooting HSAT problems and in-center equipment, assisting with new employee orientation, and maintaining supply inventory in the absence of the Manager.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Munson Healthcare requires all employees be vaccinated or have lab confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella.
  • MHC also requires all employees to receive a flu vaccine during the flu season in the year that they are hired and annually thereafter, or receive an approved medical or religious exemption.

Nice To Haves

  • BRPT/NBRC/ABRET: Registered by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) (RPSGT)
  • Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) with some sleep experience preferred
  • Registered by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) with some sleep experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Proficient in all areas of sleep study including calibration, monitoring, measurement, documentation and treatment (PSG, PAP Titration, CO2 Monitoring, Oxygen Administration, etc.)
  • Score the polysomnogram and generate reports summarizing sleep/wake period, REM episodes, arousal analysis, EEG phenomena, cardiac events, respiratory events, limb movements, and other physiological events according to current AASM guidelines noted in adults, children and infants.
  • Troubleshooting of HSAT problems as well in center equipment
  • Assists with sleep center new employee orientation as directed
  • Responsible for supply inventory maintenance in the absence of the Manager.
