About The Position

Wander Staffing is seeking three Nurse Practitioners to provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive care to the inmate population at the Federal Detention Center (FDC) Miami. The position is on-site in the Health Services Department at 33 NE 4th St, Miami, Florida. The hourly rate is $75 on a W-2 basis. If a clinician arrives but cannot work because of a delay caused by weather, equipment problems, or security issues, they are paid a minimum of one hour. A one-time orientation of approximately four hours is paid at the hourly rate. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with an unpaid 30-minute lunch, for 40 hours per week. Federal holidays are paid. The anticipated start is December 2026 or January 2027. The government contract is for five years; clinicians who need to leave the job must provide 60 days' notice. Applicants must be licensed as Nurse Practitioners in Florida and meet the stated citizenship or residency and U.S. residence-history conditions. They must be able to pass drug screening, law-enforcement background checks, fingerprinting, a credit check, and a Public Trust background investigation. Correctional experience is desirable but not required. Applicants must be able to work independently and attend the paid orientation before starting. Contract staff must sign in and out, wear an issued badge at all times, and wear professional attire or scrubs with their own white lab coat. Jeans, T-shirts, sandals, tank tops, and sweats are not permitted. Contract staff do not supervise inmates or Bureau of Prisons staff, take part in inmate counts, handle supply requests, write policy, or attend staff meetings. Medical records and inmate information must be kept confidential under the Privacy Act. Qualified applicants are submitted with Wander Staffing's proposal, and the Government selects its preferred Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants as part of the award process. Applicants are asked to email a CV, NP/PA license, diploma, BLS documentation, and CME transcripts or available certificates to Cierra Cole by November 2, 2026. Wander Staffing is an equal opportunity employer.
