About The Position

The Nurse Practitioner provides clinical services and assists physicians within their specific scope of expertise. Makes independent decisions in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Assists and instructs students. Supervises other positions. Provides clinical services for the Student Health Center and University Medical Center clinics. Uses independent decision making in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Assists physicians within their specific scope of expertise. Works to improve efficiency, organization, and patient/clinic flow. Assists with day-to-day operations, resolves issues, and contributes to the improvement of quality of care, as well as patient and provider satisfaction. Follows all established clinical procedures and workflows for patient care and communication, privacy/security, and other regulatory requirements. Partners with the enterprise services division of the college, including Health Informatics, Medical Billing, Medical Records and others to ensure patient billing and documentation are complete and accurate.

Requirements

  • Nurse Practitioner Certificate
  • Two (2) years of nursing experience.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) License in the State of Alabama in good standing.
  • Completion of a Nurse Practitioner Certification Program.
  • Final candidates must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen.
  • Prior to hiring, the final candidate(s) must successfully pass a pre-employment background investigation and information obtained from social media and other internet sources.

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) years of broad or specialized professional experience as a nurse practitioner.
  • Experience providing clinical health services to various age-populations, including adolescents and young adults.
