About The Position

The Nurse Practitioner provides quality, comprehensive care and services to patients in an Orthopedics/Sports Medicine practice and collaborates with the physician. The role involves managing care for a specified group of patients under mutually agreed protocols and in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Department of Nursing, the American Nurses Association, and NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group. The Nurse Practitioner must be willing to learn various procedures. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position with hours varying between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. The employee must be flexible and able to travel among the three practice locations in Cortlandt Manor, Croton-on-Hudson, and Cold Spring, New York. The role requires on-site presence and employees must live within commuting distance; travel expenses are not reimbursed.

Requirements

BSN.
Master’s degree in the specialty of practice, or completed alternative certification requirements for graduates of nurse practitioner programs prior to April 1, 1989.
Current New York State RN license.
Current New York State Nurse Practitioner license in the area of practice.
Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
Flexibility to work hours varying between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Ability to travel to all three practice locations and live within a commutable distance to NYP.

Nice To Haves

National certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the specialty of practice.
At least one year of Nurse Practitioner experience, preferably in Orthopedics.
Experience administering various injections.
