About The Position

The Emergency Room Nurse Practitioner works collaboratively with physicians to care for patients of varying ages who require urgent or emergent care. The role performs physical examinations, collects and documents data, organizes and performs approved diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, orders and schedules laboratory studies and professional consultations, prescribes appropriate interventions and medications, and provides direct patient care to admitted Internal Medicine patients. The Emergency Room Nurse Practitioner contributes to patient care, research, teaching, consulting, and leadership within the organization and the nursing profession.

Requirements

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).
• Successful completion of advanced practitioner training and certification as a practitioner from an approved nurse practitioner program.
• Eligible at all times to be insured for professional liability.
• Active RN license in Kentucky or a compact state.
• Current unrestricted license to practice as an APRN in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
• BLS certification.
• Board certification.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant Advanced Practice Nursing experience.
