About The Position

The Unified Government Public Health Department is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner to join the Maternal and Child Health Division, with a primary focus on Family Planning services. This role is responsible for delivering comprehensive, client-centered reproductive health care. Key duties include performing physical assessments (including pelvic and breast exams), providing routine gynecological care, prescribing medications, and ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests within the scope of the clinic setting. The Nurse Practitioner will also be responsible for delivering care in the Limited Primary Clinic, performing duties that include sports physicals, work physicals, and basic medical concerns/ issues. The Nurse Practitioner will also contribute to the development of clinical protocols and procedures and provide patient education on a range of health topics, including pregnancy options counseling. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, excellent time management, and effective organizational and communication skills. Requirements

  • Licensed Registered Nurse with an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) License.
  • Must have an active and unencumbered license and be licensed as an NP to practice Nursing in the state of Kansas.
  • Experience in reproductive health (family planning, OB/GYN, or women’s health).
  • Must be able to work with a diverse client population.
  • Must be able to work with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Must be able to exercise judgment.
  • Must be able to refer clients as needed.
  • BLS certification.
  • Strong communication skills.

  • Title X knowledge is a plus.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English a plus.
