About The Position

The Bulloch County Health Department is seeking a highly qualified candidate to fill the full-time, salaried position of Nurse Practitioner - Women's Health based in Statesboro, GA. The Southeast Health District's mission is to promote and protect the health of people in Southeast Georgia, uniting with individuals, families, and communities to improve and enhance their quality of life. They have clinic locations in 16 counties in Georgia. Requirements

  • Master's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and/or other education requirements approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing
  • Certification in the specialty area(s) approved by Georgia Board of Nursing
  • Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse
  • Georgia license as an APRN
  • CPR certification

Responsibilities

  • Under limited supervision and in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols, provides advanced practice nursing services in a health department setting requiring independent clinical judgment.
  • Delivers comprehensive health department services including Women’s Health, Family Planning, Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) management, PrEP, immunizations, tuberculosis, and diabetes and hypertension management, as well as other public health services such as Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) and child health.
  • Assesses clients, performs examinations, develops and implements plans of care, and orders, prescribes, and manages treatment within scope of licensure.
  • Adheres to public health protocols for vaccine administration, specimen collection, documentation, and compliance with safety and HIPAA standards.
  • Services are provided throughout the Southeast Health District and require travel to multiple clinic locations to support district-wide operations, outreach initiatives, and emergency response efforts.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
