Nurse Practitioner - Psychiatric
About The Position
Central City Health is hiring a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide services to its patients. Central City Health serves under-housed and at-risk populations in metro Detroit through integrated primary, pediatric, dental, behavioral and substance use disorder care, supportive housing, and community re-entry services. The organization’s mission is to promote community wellness through primary and behavioral health care, housing, and substance abuse services delivered with dignity and respect. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in nursing and a master’s degree in nursing, valid Michigan licensure as a Certified Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nurse, and certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. The candidate must be eligible for appropriate credentialing within 60 days of hire or transfer and maintain continuing education requirements. Basic Life Support certification is required; ACLS is preferred. The posting lists pay of $60.00 per hour and says the work location is in person.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing and master’s degree in nursing.
- Valid Michigan licensure as a Certified Nurse Practitioner and a valid State of Michigan Registered Nurse license.
- Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and eligibility for appropriate credentialing within 60 days of hire or transfer.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- Meet all continuing education requirements.
- Able to work cooperatively with staff and others in delivering services to patients.
- Comfortable with community outreach and working with patients exhibiting severe and persistent mental illness.
- Two years of experience as a MAT prescriber.
- Two years of experience in substance use disorder work.
Nice To Haves
- Minimum two years of Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner experience, preferably in a Community Mental Health or FQHC setting.
- Experience working with patients exhibiting severe and persistent mental illness.
- ACLS certification.
