About The Position

This role involves providing primary care medical management for patients aged 8 and older, excluding psychiatric care. The Nurse Practitioner will complete History & Physicals (H&Ps) for new admissions within 24 hours, provide medical consults upon request from attending psychiatrists, conduct follow-ups for chronic conditions and lab value reviews, and independently read EKGs. The average daily patient volume is approximately 15, plus lab reviews and EKG interpretation. Procedures are minimal, mainly cerumen removal and occasional wound care. There is no after-hours call required.

Requirements

• Masters in Nursing required
• Completion of a Certified Nurse Practitioner program
• Five years’ experience as a Registered Nurse
• License to practice as Nurse Practitioner in the State of Maryland required
• Current DEA Registration and CDS permit required
• Current BLS (CPR) in compliance with policy required
• ACLS and PALS (if applicable) in compliance with policy required
• Demonstrates critical thinking, extensive clinical competence and expertise
• Demonstrated ability to work well with all disciplines at all levels
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Will have EHR computer access

Nice To Haves

• Doctorate Degree in Nursing Preferred
• One-year experience as a Nurse Practitioner preferred
• Fluency in coding, ICD-10 and CPT, or commitment to acquire
• For Wound Center only, ACLS in compliance with policy required

Responsibilities
