About The Position

Kinstead helps experienced Nurse Practitioners in Connecticut start and grow their own independent practices by providing the necessary infrastructure and support. This role offers NPs the opportunity to own their practice, choose their patients, and set their own schedules, moving away from traditional NP jobs. Many NPs begin part-time while continuing their current employment, with the flexibility to grow at their own pace. Kinstead handles the business and operational aspects, including insurance credentialing, billing, EHR, scheduling, virtual front desk services, business setup, legal and compliance support, and marketing. The goal is to empower NPs to build a practice that aligns with their desired work style and community needs.

Requirements

  • Experienced FNP, PMHNP, or other Nurse Practitioner.
  • Active Connecticut NP license.
  • Meet Connecticut's requirements for independent practice.
  • Several years of experience caring for patients.
  • Strong ties to the community to be served.
  • Desire to start one's own practice.
  • Interest in having more ownership over patient care and work structure.

Responsibilities

  • Own and operate an independent Nurse Practitioner practice.
  • Provide patient care according to personal practice philosophy.
  • Determine patient panel and community to serve.
  • Set personal work schedule and flexibility.
  • Collaborate with Kinstead for business and operational support.
  • Utilize provided infrastructure for insurance credentialing, billing, EHR, scheduling, and marketing.
