Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant, Full-Time
About The Position
American Family Care (AFC), a provider of accessible non-emergency healthcare, is hiring a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for an urgent care setting. The role offers outpatient care with no overnights or call, a competitive base pay with performance bonuses, and a flexible shift-based schedule that includes rotating weekends and holidays. Providers work with a collaborative clinical team and approachable leadership, with access to professional development and continuing medical education resources. The provider assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients of all ages; manages acute conditions, infections, and injuries; performs minor procedures; conducts physicals; orders and interprets diagnostic tests; counsels patients; documents care; and collaborates with supervising physicians and other team members to support quality care.
Requirements
- Certified Nurse Practitioner (ANCC or AANP) with an active state license, or Certified Physician Assistant (NCCPA) with an active state license.
- At least 2 years of experience in urgent care, family medicine, or emergency care.
- Skilled in urgent care procedures and comfortable working in a fast-paced clinic.
- Excellent communication skills and a patient-centered mindset.
- Active BLS certification, or ability to obtain it within the defined onboarding period.
Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting.
- Manage acute conditions, infections, and injuries.
- Perform minor procedures such as suturing, splinting, and incision and drainage.
- Conduct comprehensive physicals, including DOT and employment exams.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including labs, X-rays, and EKGs.
- Counsel patients on care plans and preventive health strategies.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation.
- Collaborate with supervising physicians and team members to ensure quality care.
