About The Position

American Family Care (AFC) is hiring a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide care in an urgent care setting. AFC is a provider of accessible, non-emergency healthcare, with more than 400 company-owned and franchised centers across the United States. The role offers an outpatient clinical environment with no overnights or call, a shift-based schedule, and a collaborative team.

The provider assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients of all ages; manages acute conditions, infections, and injuries; performs minor procedures; conducts physicals; and orders and interprets diagnostic tests. The role also includes counseling patients, maintaining accurate documentation, and collaborating with supervising physicians and team members to support quality care.

Requirements

• Certified Nurse Practitioner (ANCC or AANP) with an active state license, or Certified Physician Assistant (NCCPA) with an active state license.
• At least 2 years of experience in urgent care, family medicine, or emergency care.
• Skilled in urgent care procedures and comfortable in a fast-paced clinic.
• Excellent communication skills and a patient-centered mindset.
• Active BLS certification, or ability to obtain it within the defined onboarding period.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting.
• Manage acute conditions, infections, and injuries.
• Perform minor procedures such as suturing, splinting, and incision and drainage.
• Conduct comprehensive physicals, including DOT and employment exams.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including labs, X-rays, and EKGs.
• Counsel patients on care plans and preventive health strategies.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation.
• Collaborate with supervising physicians and team members to ensure quality care.
