About The Position

Join a highly respected, fellowship-trained Total Joint and Adult Reconstruction Surgeon in a collaborative, patient-centered orthopedic practice. The Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner provides delegated medical care in collaboration with a fellowship-trained Total Joint and Adult Reconstruction Surgeon. This Advanced Practice Provider maintains an independent clinic schedule and assists in the operating room approximately 1.5 days per week. Responsibilities include inpatient and outpatient care, hospital rounding, surgical assistance, and participation in a shared call rotation. This position offers competitive compensation with productivity-based incentives.

Requirements

  • Current Arizona Physician Assistant license with NCCPA certification OR Current Arizona Registered Nurse license and Arizona Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license
  • National certification as required by Arizona APRN Board (for Nurse Practitioners)
  • Completion of RN First Assist program meeting AORN Standards (required for NPs functioning as first assist)
  • CPR and ACLS certification
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program (BA/BS required, MS preferred) OR accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • NP/PA Program Completed in the USA (Not Puerto Rico)
  • Arizona NP/PA License

Nice To Haves

  • Experience preferred; willing to train the right candidate

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient health status, including wellness, compliance with care plans, and determination of appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
  • Provide acute and chronic patient care including histories, physical exams, monitoring therapies, administering injections and medications, and suturing wounds
  • Triage patient calls and evaluate patient concerns in clinic and via phone
  • Respond to medical emergencies, including CPR when necessary
  • Document patient information, treatment plans, and outcomes accurately in the medical record
  • Educate patients and families and ensure continuity of care
  • Assist the surgeon in the operating room as first assist
  • Participate in hospital rounds and respond to after-hours and weekend patient calls as scheduled
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members
  • Maintain strict patient confidentiality
