About The Position

UW Health's Urology department, a nationally recognized program, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) for its outpatient adult urology clinic. This role involves providing comprehensive care to adult patients with a wide range of urologic conditions, utilizing advanced treatments and minimally-invasive surgical techniques. The department specializes in pediatric urology, urologic cancers, stone disease, urinary tract infections, voiding dysfunction, and infertility.

Requirements

  • If Nurse Practitioner: Master’s or Doctorate’s degree from accredited Nursing Program.
  • If Physician Assistant: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from accredited PA Program.
  • If Nurse Practitioner: Active RN and APNP license in State of Wisconsin AND active board certification as a NP in Adult; Adult/Gerontology Primary Care; Family; Gerontology.
  • If Physician Assistant: Active PA license in State of Wisconsin AND active PA board certification.
  • Active DEA license or ability to apply for such license prior to or upon hire.
  • CPR certification and advanced life support certifications if relevant to practice area (ACLS, PALS, NRP).

Responsibilities

  • Provide care to adult urology patients in an outpatient setting.
  • Conduct comprehensive or episodic health history and physical assessment of patients with acute, chronic and/or potential health problems.
  • Perform routine clinical procedures independently as outlined in practice agreements/scope of practice including, but not limited to: catheter insertions, catheter changes, and complex bladder irrigation.
  • Potential to complete additional procedures in clinic including but not limited to: ureteral stent removals.
