About The Position

As our Gastroenterology Outpatient Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA), you will join a growing, physician-led practice at Dignity Health Medical Group - Stockton, playing a pivotal role in the continued success, design, and development of our regional Gastroenterology service line. You will provide expert clinical care to adult patients across a broad spectrum of gastrointestinal and hepatic conditions, conducting dedicated clinic visits and managing outpatient specialty consultations. You will also contribute significantly to shaping a robust, patient-centered care network in a highly collaborative environment alongside clinical leaders. To be successful in this role, you will be a licensed Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) with a passion for delivering high-quality, compassionate GI care to a diverse community, strong clinical assessment skills, and a commitment to expanding your diagnostic capabilities. Deliver comprehensive, 100% outpatient gastroenterology services, managing clinical appointments, performing expert outpatient consultations, and establishing preventative care pathways. Evaluate and treat a wide array of specialized GI and hepatic conditions, including Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Peptic Ulcer Disease, H. Pylori, Esophagitis, Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), Cirrhosis, GERD, Infectious Gastroenteritis, Colitis, Chronic Diarrhea, and routine colonoscopy screenings. Utilize and master specialized diagnostic tools, including interpreting FibroScans and Capsule Endoscopy reports to guide precise, evidence-based treatment interventions. Partner and collaborate cross-functionally with a dedicated network of local primary care providers, gastroenterologists, and regional clinical leaders to optimize patient care and referral pathways.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
  • Active or eligible Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license in the state of California
  • National certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA)
  • Active Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certification (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Minimum of 9+ months post-training GI experience (other ambulatory experience is acceptable)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-based clinical problem-solving skills

  • Proficiency in reading FibroScans or Capsule Endoscopy reports
