About The Position

Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP) committed to a multi-disciplinary team approach to patient care to support the growth of an orthopedic practice. This part-time role (0.4 FTE) primarily involves clinic work supporting a shoulder surgeon at Meridian Health Plaza, focusing on established, follow-up, and postoperative clinic visits. The position may also provide surgical first-assist support as needed. The role requires a strong medical background, excellent assessment and clinical skills, and the ability to order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic data, prescribe medications, and develop treatment plans. The ideal candidate will be passionate about orthopedic health and model the organization's Mission, Vision, and Values.

Requirements

Current, unrestricted Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner medical license in Idaho.
Valid controlled substance registration with the Idaho Board of Pharmacy and the DEA.
A strong medical background.
Desire to develop a practice to support a growing multi-specialty medical group.
Obtain Idaho medical licensure.

Nice To Haves

Prior healthcare experience in a clinic setting.

Responsibilities

Co-management of the orthopedic patient in collaboration with the patient’s primary orthopedic surgeon.
Direct management of the patient including exams, procedures, and services such as multiple joint injections, casting, pre-operative history and physicals, surgical assisting, post-operative follow up, and management of acute and chronic non-surgical conditions.
Ordering, interpreting, and evaluating laboratory and diagnostic data.
Prescribing medications.
Developing a treatment plan.
Primarily managing established, follow-up, and postoperative clinic visits.
Providing surgical first-assist support as needed.
