About The Position

ChristianaCare is seeking an Adult-Geriatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their expanding Inpatient Neurology team. This role involves caring for patients with a variety of neurologic diseases within the hospital, primarily focusing on the Stroke service at the Newark, DE campus and consultative services at both Newark and Wilmington Campuses. The Neurology providers collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including Neurohospitalists, Vascular Neurologists, NeuroInterventionalists, NeuroIntensivists, and various outpatient sub-specialty Neurologists. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently, performing direct medical management of Neurology patients under approved protocols and expert consultation, following a comprehensive orientation. While prior Neurology experience is preferred, new graduates are welcome to apply.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant or Adult-Geriatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program required.
Must be certified or eligible for certification by either the NCCPA or ANCC.
License or license eligible in the State of Delaware, including prescriptive authority and DEA.

Nice To Haves

Previous Advanced Practice Provider experience preferred.
BLS and ACLS certification preferred.
Prior Neurology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform direct medical management of Neurology patients.
Utilize approved protocols, procedures, and expert consultation.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including Neurohospitalists, Vascular Neurologists, NeuroInterventionalists, NeuroIntensivists, and outpatient sub-specialty Neurologists.
Care for patients with acute ischemic stroke, neuro-immunologic disease, seizure/epilepsy, encephalopathy, migraine, neuromuscular disease, and other neurologic conditions.
