About The Position

State of Franklin Healthcare Associates is a physician-led and team member-owned multispecialty care group headquartered in Johnson City, Tennessee, with locations in upper East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. Its mission is to improve the health and well-being of its patients and team members. The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will provide patient care, including assessment, diagnostic evaluation, treatment-plan monitoring, education, referrals, and on-call coverage as needed. The position is full-time and located in Johnson City, Tennessee.

Requirements

For Nurse Practitioners: a bachelor’s degree in nursing and successful completion of a nurse practitioner program at the master’s level.
For Physician Assistants: graduation from an accredited PA program.
Three or more years of professional experience as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant; ideally, experience in the specific area.
Registered Nurse licensure.
ANCC certification as a nurse practitioner in a specialty area, or PA credentials.

Responsibilities

Perform patient assessments, obtain medical and social histories, order diagnostic testing, and take vital signs.
Evaluate patients’ signs and symptoms.
Interpret and evaluate diagnostic tests and laboratory results.
Monitor and review patient care and treatment plans.
Educate and counsel patients and families about preventive care, medical conditions, and the use of prescribed treatments and drugs.
Refer patients to physicians, other healthcare professionals, or facilities as needed, and monitor referral outcomes.
Provide on-call coverage for evenings and weekends as needed.
Maintain patient confidentiality.
Follow organizational and governmental healthcare policies and procedures.
