About The Position

Marshfield Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in Orthopedics to join our team in Marshfield , Wisconsin . The Surgical Physician Assistant or Surgical Nurse Practitioner is a skilled member of the allied health care team who is qualified both academically and clinically to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients under the supervision of a licensed physician. The Surgical Physician Assistant/ Nurse Practitioner works within a cooperative unit, utilizing team effort with health care providers, co-workers, and the public to provide positive patient interaction. In this role, you will join a group of NPs & PAs who support orthopedic fellowship trained physicians. You will rotate between assisting in the OR, Clinic, and Inpatient rounding duties. Requirements

  • For Nurse Practitioner's - Completion of a master’s, postmaster’s, or doctorate from an nurse practitioner program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education or National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.
  • Current licensure by the applicable state board of nursing for advanced practice.
  • For Physician Assistant's - Master’s or Baccalaureate degree.
  • Successful completion of a physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or its predecessors.
  • Successful completion of the national certifying examination and current certification given by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
  • Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe controlled substances
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.
  • Additional department-specific certifications, licenses, or memberships may be required (varies by department/location).
  • Employee may not at any time have been or be excluded from participation in any federally funded program, including Medicare and Medicaid.
  • This is a condition of employment.
  • Employee must immediately notify his/her manager or the Health System’s Compliance Officer if he/she is threatened with exclusion or becomes excluded from any federally funded program .
