The Division of Surgical Oncology is seeking a dynamic and patient-centered experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (APP) to join their busy, thriving, and expanding surgical oncology practice. The primary focus is breast care, but the role also involves providing care to patients with soft tissue malignancies such as sarcoma and non-melanoma and melanoma skin cancer. The APP will collaborate with a primary surgeon within a group of 5 breast surgeons and 3 APPs. Responsibilities include evaluating and managing new surgical patients, coordinating complex perioperative and postoperative surgical care, and developing an independent survivorship clinic for patient cancer surveillance. The role also involves collaboration with the multi-disciplinary oncologic team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care and participation in weekly tumor boards. The practice will primarily be in the outpatient clinic setting, treating the spectrum of breast disease, including cancer patients, high-risk patients, and those with benign breast disease. Clinics are located downtown at the NCI-designated Hollings Cancer Center, MUSC Health East Mt. Pleasant, MUSC Health West Ashley, and MUSC Nexton. The MUSC Breast Oncology team is NAPBC certified. The ideal candidate is outgoing, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and energetic, wishing to support a high-volume clinical practice.
