About The Position
This hybrid position is primarily hospital based for inpatient care and OR coverage. This position will partner closely with APPs and residents in order to ensure coordinated and smooth care transitions for patients. This position will cover our Colorectal Surgery service line.
Requirements
- Partner closely with APPs and residents
- Ensure coordinated and smooth care transitions for patients
- Cover our Colorectal Surgery service line
- Obtain patient history
- Perform physical examinations
- Order and perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
- Formulate a diagnostic impression
- Develop and implement a treatment plan
- Monitor effectiveness of therapeutic interventions
- Offer counseling and education to meet patient needs
- Make appropriate referrals
- Prescribe prescription medication
- First Assist in the OR and perform minor procedures and surgical procedures
- Assess data reflective of patient's status and appropriately interprets information relative to patient's age-specific needs.
- Round on Patients in the Hospital
- See and triage emergency room and inpatient hospital consults
- Integrate and co-manage hospital patients with resident teams
- Coordinate patient needs and transition care to outpatient settings and with clinic care teams
