About The Position

University of Minnesota Physicians is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Hepatology team in Minneapolis, MN. In this role, you will coordinate and facilitate the delivery of care to patients with a variety of liver conditions. You will perform physical examinations and preventive health measures, order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' clinical problems and health care needs. You will also recommend treatment and prescribe medication, and consult with physicians (as needed) and make appropriate referrals for evaluation or treatment.

Requirements

A qualified candidate will be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and formal Adult, Adult/Gero, Acute Care, or FNP Nurse Practitioner training program or a graduate of an accredited Physician's Assistant program.
Have a current MN RN license and be approved or eligible by the Minnesota Board of Nursing for prescription writing privileges or a current PA license with prescriptive authority through the MN Board of Medical Practice.
Be certified through ANCC/AANP or eligible for ANCC/AANP national exam or through the NCCPA and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.

Nice To Haves

A minimum of 1 year experience as an inpatient PA or NP in hepatology.
2+ years of experience as a NP or PA in hepatology or gastroenterology
