About The Position

This role involves assisting attending physicians in the care and management of patients across various inpatient settings, including the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and clinic environments. Responsibilities include making patient rounds, contributing to daily care decisions, writing orders, consulting with other specialists, and coordinating diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. The position requires frequent bedside visits to assess patient status and direct care. For Emergency Department and ICU assignments, an Acute Care ARNP or PA is required. For clinic assignments, the role involves providing diagnostic and therapeutic healthcare, including taking medical histories, performing physical examinations, coordinating tests, prescribing medications, and educating patients on treatment plans. Other duties may include sharing call hours, phone coverage, and seeing admitted patients. Specific requirements vary by specialty, with an NNP required for Neonatal ICU, AGACNP for Adult ICUs and Emergency Medicine, and PNP-AC for Pediatric ICU.

Requirements

Master's degree in Nursing.
Must meet requirements set forth by the Medical Staff Office to obtain and retain privileges to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse within UF Health Shands Hospital and/or the Shands UF Healthcare Network, as applicable.
AGACNP required for Adult ICUs.
AGACNP required for Emergency Medicine.
PNP-AC required for Pediatric ICU.
NNP required for Neonatal ICU.
AGACNP, AGPCNP, or FNP required for Adult Clinic/Primary Care.
PNP or FNP required for Pediatric Clinic/Primary Care.
CNM or APRN with Florida license to practice midwifery required for Nurse Midwife.
PMHNP required for Psychology/Psychiatry.
Current and clear license (or eligible to be licensed) as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the State of Florida.
BLS is required.

Responsibilities
