Requirements

  • Master's Degree - Nursing
  • <2 years Experience
  • No Experience Supervisor Experience
  • Licensed APRN in Missouri
  • National APRN Board Certifcatn
  • BJH: Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP), Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP), Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
  • SLCH: Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Primary Care (CPNP-PC), Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Acute Care (CPNP-AC), or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)

Responsibilities

  • Lead inpatient perioperative management of cardiac surgery patients
  • Perform assessments, develop treatment plans and manage acute care needs
  • Coordinate care with surgeons, fellows and interdisciplinary teams
  • Manage orders and interpret labs, imaging and cardiac monitoring
  • Document H&P's, progress notes and discharges
  • Educate patients and support safe transitions of care
  • Provides compassionate, appropriate, and effective patient and family-centered care for health recovery, illness prevention, treatment of critically ill, or end-of-life care.
  • Responsible for assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, health promotion, and care coordination for patients and families with acute and chronic health needs in an academic inpatient setting.
  • Communicates and collaborates effectively with patients, families, physicians, medical/surgical trainees, and other health professionals.
  • Demonstrates the highest level of accountability for professional practice by participating in professional development, quality initiative/performance activities, and implementing standards of care within area of specialization.
  • The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
