About The Position
We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner specializing in Cardiac Surgery for a locum tenens position in Topeka, KS. This inpatient role involves clinical duties and call coverage from September 5 to December 5, 2026. The Nurse Practitioner will manage adult cardiothoracic surgery patients, including cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgery cases. Responsibilities include patient rounding, admissions, phone consults during call, and performing endovascular vein harvesting. The position requires proficiency in Epic EMR and collaboration with the cardiovascular service line and existing APRN staff. A key aspect of this role is the willingness to teach two new Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) Endovascular Vein Harvest techniques.
Requirements
- Active Nurse Practitioner License Required
- Endovascular Vein Harvest Competency Required
Nice To Haves
- Board Certified Nurse Practitioner Preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient cardiothoracic surgery coverage
- Perform endovascular vein harvesting for cardiac surgery cases

- Participate in floor call and weekend call coverage
