Nurse Practitioner - Family Medicine
About The Position
We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner specializing in Family Medicine for a locum tenens position at an outpatient community health center in Elma, WA. This role involves providing comprehensive clinical care to patients of all ages, from newborns to geriatrics. The Nurse Practitioner will manage chronic diseases, provide acute care for walk-in patients, and perform basic procedures. The position offers a Monday to Friday schedule from 8 AM to 5 PM, with up to 18 patients per day. Support staff, including a medical assistant and receptionist, are available, as is specialty backup in Pediatrics. The health center serves diverse populations, including migrants and refugees, with on-site interpretation services.
Requirements
- Active WA License
- Board Certification Required
- Active WA DEA required
- BLS, ACLS certifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience
- Clean background required
- No malpractice history
- COVID and flu vaccination required
Nice To Haves
- Spanish or Russian speaking a plus
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive family medicine care to patients of all ages (newborns through geriatrics)
- Manage chronic diseases and provide acute care services including same-day walk-in patients
- Perform basic procedures such as injections, IUD placement, and minor wound care
- Collaborate with dedicated medical assistant, receptionist, and interdisciplinary support staff in a community health center setting
- Deliver culturally competent care to diverse populations including migrants and refugees with on-site interpretation services
