Requirements

Nurse Practitioner (NP) license
Supervising Physician relationship established

Responsibilities

Provide pre-op and post-op assessments of patients under the direct supervision of their Supervising Physician.
Provide and/or assist in follow-up care.
Assist in the Operating Room.
Supervise care for patients in the Cardiac Surgery ICU, ranging from CABG and valve replacement/repairs to implantable VADs, Heart and Lung transplants, ECMO, aortic dissections, and aneurysm repairs.
Perform bedside procedures within the scope of service.
Write progress notes.
Participate in daily rounds.
Write orders.
Dictate discharge notes.
Participate in hospital-wide quality improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care.
