Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing and completion of an approved nurse practitioner training program.
- Licensed with the state of Alabama as a Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nurse Upon Hire.
- Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
Responsibilities
- Providing highly skilled medical care and treatment to patients as assigned by and under the direction of the collaborating physician.
- Assisting in the diagnoses and therapeutic management of patients under the supervision of a physician.
- Organizing and presenting patient data to the supervising physician(s) to include recommendations for appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic regimens as determined by patients needs using applicable medical and surgical equipment.
- Arranging inpatient admissions and discharges at the direction of the supervising physician.
- Performing rounds and recording appropriate patient progress notes.
- Providing instructions and guidance regarding health care and medical therapy to patients, family members and significant others.
- Ordering appropriate laboratory, radiological and diagnostic studies.
- Administering Injections and dispensing medications.
- Completing all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements.
- Adhering to current Infection Control and Safety Standards.
- Regular and prompt attendance.
- Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required.
- Related duties as assigned.
