About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Neurosurgery (Spine) inpatient team. Ideal nursing candidates demonstrate a strong commitment to service excellence, nursing excellence, and adaptability.

Requirements

Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
Current BLS certification, ACLS preferred
Minimum 3 years of nursing experience preferred
Prior inpatient Neurosurgery experience preferred
Working knowledge of the components of quality and acute patient care needs.
Maintains clinical expertise to effectively manage physical, emotional, psychosocial and spiritual needs of patients throughout the care continuum.
Excellent analytical and interpersonal communication skills necessary to negotiate with families, patient, physicians, and third-party payers.
Demonstrated ability to work well with physicians and other professionals in a direct and positive manner.

Nice To Haves

Neurosurgical nursing experience preferred
ACLS preferred

Responsibilities

Coordinate with multiple physician teams regarding the care plan for each spine patient daily
In conjunction with providers, participate in multidisciplinary rounds on 9T to optimize teammate communication for our neurosurgical patients
Facilitate communication with physician teams regarding patient or nursing questions/concerns
Communicate with family members to ensure adequate understanding of patient’s care during hospital course
Coordinate with social workers/case managers to assist with appropriate patient disposition
Assist with scheduling of post op follow ups, wound checks and outpatient imaging
