About The Position

The Nurse Manager leads and supports the nursing department to ensure residents receive safe, effective, compassionate care that meets professional standards, company expectations, and regulatory requirements. The role involves responding to residents’ clinical needs, supporting nursing staff, and coordinating care and documentation. The Nurse Manager works with residents, staff, visitors, physicians, and the Medical Director in a positive, team-oriented environment.

Requirements

Current, valid Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Leadership skills and clinical confidence.
Ability to balance compassion with accountability.

Experience in long-term care, acute care, or geriatric nursing.

Responsibilities

Help manage the nursing department and support residents, staff, and visitors.
Ensure nursing care meets company standards and regulatory requirements.
Recognize and respond promptly to residents’ clinical needs.
Assist with dressing changes and wound care, and oversee the wound management program.
Communicate changes in residents’ conditions to physicians and update care documentation.
Participate in scheduling and conduct resident rounds, particularly related to wound care.
Complete timely and accurate nursing assessments and make care decisions.
Support medication administration, treatments, and nursing services according to care plans and physician orders.
Maintain accurate, timely charting and documentation.
Ensure required records and forms are completed and submitted correctly and on time.
Assist in evaluating prospective residents to determine whether their care needs can be met.
Maintain open communication with the Medical Director so programs and services align with resident needs.
Perform duties in a way that supports residents, the team, and business operations.
